Description

:bulletblue:name: Cornelius unicorn Drákōn Line

:bulletblue:Breed family
Cornelius Origin Unicorn - ancestor
Cornelius Hippocampus - 'Cousin'

:bulletblue: Behaviour
They are generally very friendly and pleasant to be around. They have a good sense of humour, and are even shown to enjoy being around others.

They don't like crowed places, loud noises or bright lights, and they definitely won't respond to someone with an iron fist.
They are very easily tamed, and, as intelligent as they are, they love learning new tricks from there masters.
They can easily be combined with other breeds and species.
They tend to be very relaxed, not fearing aggressive dogs, other dragon breeds, other unicorns breeds, or even demon breeds. They often succeed in becoming friends, even with the demons.

In there social structure, you'll often find a mix of many different ages, family lines and breeds. Dominant stallions protect there herd, often co-operating with each other. They even allow and take care of young stallions, inside their herd. If the behaviour of the young stallion(s) puts to much stress on the herd, they are chased out. If they try to become a dominant stallion next to them, the reaction depends; if the younger stallion is soothed to become dominant, they will usually let him. If he is too young, or gets hurt to much, they will forcefully but gently make him stay in the safety of the herd. (see magic)

:bulletblue: Build
They are 'wild' in build; most resemble the Przewalski horse, Zebra's, Donkey's, Konik, Fjord, Camargue, Sorraia and Tarpan, Arabian and Akhal Teke builds. (in short, wild&original horses in build)
Uncommon builds are Caspian pony, Fell pony, Icelandic pony, Exmoor pony, Dartmoor pony, Ardenner, Percheron, Shire and Mongolian horse builds. (in short, pony and draft builds)
Rare builds are Mustang builds and Andalusian builds.

Short notice! if you cross 2 purebred with a 'wild' build, it's possible that the foal(s) are build like drafts or mustangs. This is an inheritance from their ancestors; the possibility to get a totally different build over 1 generation.

--Why all the breeds? mainly so you would understand what builds I'm talking about

:bulletblue: Base Coats
The most common coat, is one called "GemStone Dragon". This coat is one that's completely covered in one, vibrant colour, with none to very few markings. They are always named after a gemstone, usually the one they resemble the most. They come in bright, vibrant colours, sometimes with the same colours and markings as their stones.
-examples seen on the breedsheet; Tourmaline, Maw Sit Sit and her twinkids; Tiger's Eye, Spectrolite. note; white, grey and black are very rare!

An other possibly is that they resemble some sort of reptile or amphibian. It's suspected that this come in existence to 'bled in' with their environment, or to become friends with reptiles and amphibians. -and example is Lightning's Night

The rarest base coat is one they borrowed from the Animalia Cnidaria Medusozoa. Any Classes are possible. The Medusozoa are most commenly know as "jell fish". This is one of the most beautiful base coats. Some are transparent, reflecting sunlight, or glowing. It's also the rarest base coat, called the "Medusa coat". Despite their rareness, it's quite dominant over the other base coats.

:bulletblue: Patterns and Markings

There are no common patterns; markings in general are uncommon.

An uncommon pattern is displayed by Dragon's Rain. It's basicly a random pattern of stripes and spots. They can come in all sorts of colours, -usually more vibrant- and are more irregular. Only appears on GemStone Dragon coats. This indicates more dragon blood.

Horse markings, such as blazes, stockings, rabbicano, appaloosa, paints are all possible. they usually show on GemStone Dragon coats. Horse markings on Reptile and amphibian coats are possible, usually suppressed by the reptile/amphibian coat. On the Medusa base coat, they usually glow brightly, showing bone structures. This indicates lots of dragon blood.

Reptile and amphibian patterns are counted as a base coat, because they do not come in different colours, and do not have other fantasy markings then displayed by the reptile/amphibian.

:bulletblue: Eyes and pupils
They have very good eyes, and can see under water. Eyes are commonly the same colours as the base coat. If there are markings, they usually have the same colours as the markings.
In some rare cases, they have the colours of the horns.

A rare (and recessive) threat, is that they pupil has the same colour as the iris, witch will make the animal appear pupil less. This indicates more dragon blood.

:bulletblue: hair, feathering and spinal manes
The hairs on their coat are very strong, and sharp, much like scales. Rider will need to carry protection if riding bareback, and enchanted saddles and headsets are no luxury. The hair-scales can almost cut trough anything.

regardless of there build, they always have a little feathering. It is rarely as much as their ancestor's breed, but still visible.

They always carry spinal manes, but very rarely have manes. The spinal manes, if taken care of, can be grown to become very long. This is useful for humanoid riders, as the manes are very strong, soft, and gentle to touch. Their own hair-scales won't cut trough them; this gives the rider the possibility to ride bareback without excessive protective gear.

Lion's Manes are highly desirable; and not because of beauty, but because these animals are so easily ridden bareback. It gives the rider more grip and balance, without danger of cutting themselves. - small notice; people that keep them for beauty, try getting out breeding the Lion's Manes for more beauty (since the hair-scales shine like a diamond when well taken care of)

:bulletblue: hoofs and horns
Hoofs and horns have the same colours.
The only exception to this, is with horse markings; they sometimes cause stripes in the hoofs that won't be seen in the horns. -example: Tourmaline
Hoofs can be cloven, or normal. They always tend to be very harp, and almost never in need of irons.

They have 3 kids of horns;
*Spinal Horns
*Head Horns
*Side Horns

*Spinal Horns
Always on the neck, never continuing over the shoulders. Never more then 9, and the first one can start on the back of the head, or somewhere on the neck. Always the same colour as the other horns. These horns are always present on a purebred. They can have any shape, but always the same for all spinal horns.
*Head Horns
Always present on a purebred! Comes in the same colours as other horns. They can have any shape, and at least 1 horn can be seen, anywhere on the head. They can be different in shape, and size.
2 horns are common, more horns are rather rare, but highly desirable by breeders. "Dual Horns" (like Dragon's Rain has) are very rare.
*Side Horns
They horns are seen, sometimes not. They are desirable by breeders, and are common. It's rather uncommon for them not to have them. They always stand on either sides of the neck, directly behind the head, always bending back, but the way the bend back, can differ. They share the same colours as the hoofs and other horns. This indicates more dragon blood.

:bulletblue:Tails
Tails can vary greatly in shape and appearance! most common is the dragon's tail, with all sorts of variations; some even have horns on these tails. - examples Lighting's Night, Dragon's Rain, Spectrolite

Spinal manes can run all the way to the end of the dragon's tail, stop somewhere half way, at the base, or shortly behind the base.

Flaming tails, like Maw Sit Sit's are common. The flame can have any colours, youngsters get one at later age, when they are ready to breed.

Normal horse tails are seen as well, but are rather uncommon.

:bulletblue:Underbelly scales
This is a sigh of lots of dragon blood; there underbelly, neck, and lower jaw are covered in scales. These scales will always have the same colour as the base coat, or support the Reptile/amphibian/Medusa coat.

:bulletblue:beards
The more dominant your equine, the more beard hairs they will have. These hairs are, just like spinal manes, soft to touch but very strong. Both male, and female alike grown these.

:bulletblue: Mouths, tongues and Fangs
They share a mouth similar to a dragon.
Tongues are always forced like a snakes, and they use them to smell and communicate. -Equines that like each other will use the tongues to touch each other. This can be a sister-brother-mother-father-friend-bond, any bond, and they will do this with creatures they like as well. So don't be surprised when they suddenly lick you like a dog.
Fangs; in dominant males they are very large, and they will be sticking out of there mouth, even when closed. Young males and females have smaller fangs, and can hide them when there mouth is closed.
All fangs carry venom AND there own anti-venom!

:bulletblue:Wings
It's common for them to have wings. If they have wings, they also have more dragon blood.
All Equines are capable of hiding there wings as strange bumps on there shoulders. All the 'bumps' always look like markings shaped like wings.

At the end of the wings, you'll always find the bones sticking out, with the skin 'ripping' apart. This doesn't hurt them; The bone is constantly growing, much like a nail/hair, and the wings keeps growing bigger and bigger while they age. Stable can choose to 'clip' these bones, keeping the wings smaller. It doesn't hurt them, and in nature, the bones would sometimes be broken, reducing the side naturally.
The endings of the bones are very harp, and are used to fend off predators.

:bulletblue:Breeding
Breeding tends to happen very randomly. An other gift from their ancestors, you'll never really know what you'll get. Especially with the tails! at random, you'll get any tail, any combined with all sorts of spinal manes on them. 2 dragon tails might give a horse tail, or the other way around!
Wings are passed in a similar way; for 4 generations, you only use wingless equines, and yet, you suddenly get winged equines.

Twins are very common; mothers never have problems with this. (not in giving birth, and not in providing milk)

:bulletblue: Little ones
The foals are cared for and protected by every herd member. The father, will be able to tell who his foals are, thank to the sent of the foals. He will even be able to tell who his grandchildren are. Father are just as caring, gentle and protective as the mothers. Fathers are, oddly, less strict then mothers, often letting them act more reckless. It's not an uncommon sight to see a father trying to nap with his foals playing trampoline on this belly. (Neither dad nor foals are harmed while playing this game) While mom doesn't allow that game.

They are born with 'dots' on the places where the horns will grow. Side horns (and tail horns) don't show dots, and only grow when they are almost fully grown.

Foals are born with there wings in marking-like bumps, and only learn to get the wings out when they are about a year old.

:bulletblue:Magic
Always in possession of;
*Fire creation and manipulation
*smoke creation and manipulation
*Aura manipulation {This is way they are capable of being friends with almost anything}
*Flight magic (only when they have wings)
*Teleportation magic (limited - much weaker then the Cornelius Origin Unicorn, but should still be able to teleport objects.
*minor healing magic; mainly used to get others to like them
Other powers are possible.

:bulletblue:Eating habits
They mainly live off fruit, vegetables, and occasionally go to hunt on meat or fish. You'll do them a pleasure with grapes, raspberries, strawberries and many other berries. Meat is greatly enjoyed too. (crickets for some reason are loved)
A daily diet would consist out of kelp, seaweed, a mix of notes, some fruit (can be any, most use apples) and a small portion of meat.

:bulletblue:Water
They are very closely related to the Cornelius Hippocampus, as both breeds received dragon blood. (however, the Hippocampus's dragon blood is hardly noticeable, since they were mixed with Hippocamuses. The dragon's wings are flight magic is still on them)
They are all capable of breathing underwater; they do this by their skin, much like amphibians.

:bulletgreen: How to get one;
They are free for creation, you do not need to ask permission. You always have to show and alert me when you made one, bred one, or if someone bred to your equine. I love to see what you make, so bother me with any drawings you make of them :aww:
:bulletred:Do not create anything I called 'rare' without my permission!

The Cornelius Drákōn Equines on the sheet:
Are all up for adoption. Send me a note if you'r interested, since they are the breedsheet example, I'de like them to have really good homes.
